2008.mar.12. *phew* Finally back
posted by: Lone Lee

Yes, we've been offline for some time, but now we're back.

It took me some time to move servers, and I actually had to mess with code, something I didn't want to do. So it took some days.

Are all the downloads working? I don't know. If you guys notice anything amiss, e-mail mail@abandoneer.com.

2007.mar.17. First game in eleven months
posted by: Lone Lee

It's been exactly eleven months since I added our last "new" download. Now this one's literally the newest game on site: Shadowbit Interactive decided to release a new game for free and contacted us to host the files -- an honor we took gladly. It's an addictive old-school action/racing game called Trail blazer, go check it out!

I still got another cool package contributed by an user to add to the site, I'll see if I can add it tomorrow.

2007.mar.13. New content coming up

Two users sent me quality material to put up... Should be added by this weekend or as soon as I finish playtesting, so keep your eyes peeled!

2007.mar.08. DOSBox v.0.70 is on
posted by: Lone Lee

Great news of last week were confirmed, DOSBox new version went live, only the DOSBox crew fooled me: new version is 0.7 and not 0.66 as previously announced!

The new version was tested by 5th Horseman from Abandonia and shows great improvement in the way of increased compatibility with old games. To have an idea, the beast was being tested with *Quake* no less. Think about this.

The DOSBox entry was updated, there you go!

2007.feb.27. New version of DOSBox coming up
posted by: Lone Lee

Grrreeeeat news. The DOSBox crew is planning on releasing long-awaited version 0.66 of their popular MS-DOS emulator by the end of this week!

I had the opportunity of playtesting one of the release candidates and, being a config rat as I am, the first and most important changes I've noticed is that it now supposedly detects and dynamically applies the best possible cycles and core definitions on the fly. Manual settings are still available, so it's just win-win!

When the official release goes live we'll have more information and a full list of new features -- so keep your eyes peeled and check DOSBox at Sourceforge periodically for the download of the newest version.
